11+ and School entrance exams

I have many years experience working with pupils throughout year 5 to prepare them for the 11+ exam the following September.

I offer sound advice to parents, as well as on-going support and assessments to boost core skills in:-

• Maths
• Verbal Reasoning
• Spatial and non verbal reasoning
• English

I have a very high success rate in tutoring 11+ students as I prepare them to a very high standard helping them to gain entry to their desired school.

How do I achieve this?

After an initial assessment, I can design a proactive plan to coach and support your child throughout year 5 for the forthcoming exam in September the following year. The focus is on building core maths skills as well as building up a comprehensive vocabulary with a good command of spelling and grammar. I put a strong emphasis on how your child develops their thinking and reasoning skills as this is a key area in achieving success in this exam.

The Kent test is a multiple choice format and towards the exam date, I give plenty of practice using standard practice papers so your child gets used to this style of exam. We have regular reviews to check that we are on course to reach the desired goal and use exam techniques such as timed assessments, leaving tricky questions until the end, spelling and vocabulary tests so your child is fully prepared for the exam in September.
